Reading text: Old friends

Paragraph 1 – Tom

My name is Tom, and I work as a teacher. I teach English at a secondary school.

I like my job because I meet many students every day. I start work at eight o’clock in the morning.

I teach classes, check homework, and help students with their questions.

In the afternoon, I prepare lessons for the next day.

After work, I go home, have dinner, and watch TV.

I sometimes meet my old friends at the weekend.

Paragraph 2 – Sarah

I’m Sarah, and I am a nurse in a hospital. My job is busy, but I enjoy it.

I help patients and work with doctors. I start work early in the morning and wear a uniform.

During the day, I check patients and give them medicine.

I have lunch at work with my colleagues.

In the evening, I go home, relax, and call my old friends to talk about our day.

Paragraph 3 – Mark

My name is Mark, and I work as an office worker in a small company.

I work on a computer and answer emails. I start work at nine o’clock and finish at five.

During the day, I write reports and talk to my team.

At lunchtime, I eat with my colleagues.

After work, I go to the gym or meet my old friends for coffee.

We talk about our jobs and our daily routines.
